I've been a saunterer like you before ever knowing the word. Here I thought I was engaging in hippie tree-hugger flanerie! It really does warm my heart to see others in the indieweb with a focus on nature adoration. I was really worried that I'd have to cordon that side of myself off to the margins since much of my motivation to make a site is to honor the oldweb and digital nostalgia. But in reality, I want my site to represent me, and I am incomplete when viewed outside of my dynamic with nature. So thank you for grounding me, insert soil pun here.

if theres anything i REALLY want to do right now it is to saunter in the woods. nature is so beautiful even down to the parts we find ugly,, sadly theres not much woods around me that arent either blocked off by fences or are private property but once i get the opportunity i will start sauntering and not come back once i have taken a bite out of every tree in the region to not starve to death in the forest. love this site i feel very endeared to eat hummus right now too

It is so funny you arrive when you do! I am so homesick for the woods and I'm stuck thinking about my favorite grass. Growing up we had this grass that would grow and purposefully lean over the trail. It had barbed seeds on the ends that would hitch a ride on large creatures. We called them monkey spears and the real name is black needlegrass. We had so many because we would throw them at each other as we walked down the trail. They hurt! I was trying to think of a way to show exactly how I love this plant and it started with having the viewer/player? walk down the trail and see it. Safe to say, I thoroughly enjoy your NaSauns!

Hiii Digihumus!!!! I’ve been meaning to tell you this since last week when I stumbled upon your comment on Anthill’s post recommending Ishmael, but I got busy after deleting my previous site. Your site looks refreshingly beautiful and feels so alive and thoughtful. I love the customized cursors and how I can see which animals I’m most likely to find in those parts of nature. It’s my first time hearing the term “sauntering,” and as someone who lives life very fast-paced, it inspired me to take a pause, so I’m finally joining a friend on her mountain hike next week just to do that (sauntering, I mean).
